King Putt

Yes we are still finding new things to do! King Putt is an indoor, black light miniature golf course. We haven't taken Ashton miniature golfing before and since he is always playing golf at Grandma's house I knew he would do just fine. Ashton was so excited to go in and start golfing. He actually got par on the first several holes. I think he may have some of our golfing blood flowing through his veins. He was even doing better than me! But to be fair to myself, I did have Kaylynn strapped to my chest so I was playing one handed :). It was a fun afternoon and Ashton can't wait to go back. It will be something fun to do this summer to escape the heat. Of course we snapped a few pics of our day. Who knows, if Ashton continues to love golf, maybe he will be really good at it, only time can tell.

Las Vegas Zoo

Our second field trip with Ashton's class was to the Las Vegas Zoo. We haven't been to the zoo yet, so we didn't know what to expect. When we lived in San Diego, we had year passes to the Zoo and Wild Animal park. I realized that we were so lucky to have such wonderful sights to see and so many wonderful animals. The Las Vegas Zoo is on 3 acres and the kids and I walked through it in about 10 minutes. Even though it was small, we had a lot of fun. We saw chimps and monkeys, lions, snakes, alligator, turtles, flamingos, lizards, peacocks, and various cat family animals. Ashton really liked walking and seeing the animals, I think his favorite part was climbing on the bronzed statues. After we all had a snack, one of the zoo keepers brought out a baby kangaroo. Each of the students, and parents too, got to pet the baby kangaroo. I love these little field trips. Ashton's teachers plan so many wonderful events for us to participate in with our children. I am so thankful that we are apart of this wonderful program. Overall the Zoo was fun and I was glad that we finally got to go.

Discovery Museum

While we were in Washington, I was able to get together with one of my bestest friends Lauren. We don't get to see each other very often, but I am grateful for the times that we do get. She has a daughter that is four weeks younger then Ashton. Since we had the kids, we decided it would be fun to go to the discovery museum. We met right after it opened and spent most of the day there. The kids ran around for hours and had so much fun playing with and touching everything. Luckily we had Aaron with us so he could run after the kids and Lauren and I could talk and catch up. Ashton and Makiah have very similar personalities and it was one of those days were they meshed perfectly. They had photo booths in different areas of the museum and both of them wanted to get the picture taken. I wish we could have videoed their time in the booth. They made at least 100 faces and and never stopped posing. It was so much fun to watch them. It was a wonderful day and I am so grateful that we were able to get together. Lauren and Makiah, we love and miss you! Thanks for such a great day, we all had fun, can't wait to see you again.
