Washington Trip

February was a traveling month for us. First the kids and I went to visit my family in California for a short weekend trip. Then we returned home and two days later were on a plane to visit Aaron's family in Washington. The kids did great on the plane. Ashton was so excited to fly, he was a little squirmy, but I think he did awesome for a four year old. Kaylynn was her happy self and since she was on my lap, she was happy.
We spent 5 days in Puyallup and we had so much fun. Ashton and Grandma played all day everyday. They would walk to the park and play in the yard. We were so lucky that it was sunny and beautiful the entire time we were there. The day after we left, it snowed so we totally lucked out. We didn't do anything fancy, we just wanted to visit and spend time with our family. I did get to see my friend Lauren, but I made a seperate post for our day. It was so wonderful getting to see everyone and spend time with them. We don't get to see Aaron's family very often, so it makes our visits that much more special.
Mom and Dad thanks for all the wonderful toys and clothes and goodies you got for us while we were there. Melissa thanks for the yummy dinner, I'm glad we could return the favor when you visited us. Thanks Grandpa for letting us stay at your house and for taking us to dinner. We loved meeting Carol, she is a wonderful lady. We love and miss you all and look forward to our next trip.
Of course, Mom took like 200 pictures while we were there and we managed to get some family photos too. We always tease her about pictures, but I am always grateful that I have them. I had to pick just a few to share, but I have lots lots more :).

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is a fun holiday for children. It calls for a party and lots of candy. I think it's fun because I get to dress up the kids in red and white and I get to decorate my house. Aaron and I usually just do a fancy dinner at home with the kids so for us it's a mellow holiday.
Ashton is in a class of 25 kids. They had a party and got to exchange Valentines. It was so cute to watch them. They had lots of food and goodies and then sat in a circle and took turns passing out their valentines. Then they sang some of the songs they have been learning. It was a really fun day and I love being able to go to Ashton's classroom and see what he is learning.

T-Ball

Well we have just finished our second season of T-ball. Ashton and Luke have been on the same team and it has been so much fun to watch them play. Its funny to watch these little boys try and figure out what they are suppose to be doing. They all love to bat and out fielding always makes for a good laugh. Ashton definitely is a go-getter, which also means that he doesn't like to share :). It's a work in progress. Since its the winter season, most of our practices have been in the dark and the cold. I tried to bundle up both of my kids, but its hard to keep wiggly children covered. Kaylynn just looked so cute all bundled that I had to take a picture. She was a trooper going to all the games and practices. I know she will be Ashton's cheerleader once she is a little older. Ashton loves playing t-ball and its been really fun to watch him learn. We are taking a break till next fall and may try a different sport just to see what he likes. It was another great season with a great coach.

*I attached the professional pictures that they had taken for both seasons. Ashton is totally doing a funny smile, but at least he smiled. Make sure you double click the image to enlarge it.

Park Field Trip

Ashton is a very lucky boy and attends a fantastic preschool. Ashton goes to school four days a week and he just loves his teachers and his class. At least once a month they have a parent workshop. We come to school on Friday with our kids and get to do an activity with them. We have had workshops on reading, crafts, and writing. Last month we took our first field trip, we met at Floyd Lamb Park. This park has a huge duck pond, walking trails, picnic tables, and lots of land to explore. We went on an exploration walk and then had lunch. They played a few games and made bird feeders. We spent several hours at the park and had a lot of fun. I have been so impressed with the program he is in. Ashton is learning so much and just LOVES school. I hope he always feels this way :). I love these workshops and have learned so much myself.
I just have to say that I have the two cutest kids there. Ashton is also getting really good at taking pictures and he loves to take pictures of Kaylynn and I. He is getting pretty good.
