First Sewing Project

This last week I was lucky enough to have my sister (her two kids) and my mom come to visit. They brought me my sewing table and help me organize and set up my sewing area of my office. Since everything was organized and ready to use, of course we had to start a project. I have sewed a quilt when I was eight and then made my Christmas stockings two years ago, but don't really have a clue how to sew anything else.

For our first project, we made tote bags. My mom guided me every step of the way so I could learn all the steps for myself. It was so much fun to have them here, the kids had a blast playing together. My tote bag turned out so cute! I even did lining on the inside and added a pocket. The next day we started another project, but since I am finishing it later today, I will save that for it's own post. The kids were good little troopers and even the cats never left our sides while working on our projects. Sam made himself a cozy little bed in my sewing box, he wanted to be part of the party :).

  2. Great job Tiff! I can't believe how fast you can learn something new. I'm so proud you have the sewing gene. Yes - it was a very fun trip. I love seeing you guys and spending time at your beautiful new home. Can't wait to come back. I'll bring Dad and put him to work in the yard or painting or something. FUN! We can make a quilt!
