Ashton's Birthday

Well my little boy turned 4 this last December. I can't believe he is already 4! He is one Lucky little boy and got to open presents on several different days. Since we were in California the week before, we decided to have a little family party so Ashton and my Dad could celebrate together. We ordered pizza and my mom made him Ashton his favorite cake. He totally loved it and I was happy to get my grandpa and grandson picture for the year. Ashton loves playing with all his cousins and always has fun at Grandma and Papa's house. Brooklynn even made Ashton his own birthday hat. It was very cute.

Our next party was at home in Vegas. We decided to get a bounce house and just let the kids play. We had a few of his friends over and they played until it was dark out. They played so well together that all the moms got to sit inside and visit. Everyone had a good time and it was fun just watching the boys play. For a few weeks after his birthday he kept asking me if he was having another party. After two weeks of several parties, he thought we should have one every day. He is growing up so fast. I love my little man and feel so blessed to have such a smart, handsome, and loving little boy. Ashton got a lot of really awesome presents which he has played with and loved everyday since his birthday. He is one spoiled little man!

Grandma Rita's 90th Birthday

During the Thanksgiving break, we celebrated Grandma Rita's 90th birthday. We all gathered at Bruno's for dinner and dessert. We played how well do you know grandma game. It was fun to find out fun facts about her life. I think I got a little more than half right. It was really nice getting togehter with the Seymour family. I was glad that we could be there to celebrate Grandma's special day. I think she looks great for 90! We love you Grandma Rita!

Kaylynn's First Feeding

I know that I am really behind because Kaylynn has grown and is doing so much now. But I need to get caught up so here we go. Right around 5 1/2 months, Kaylynn started nursing all the time. I couldn't keep up with her with nursing alone and she was always reaching for my food on my plate. I knew it was time to start feeding her solids. So I was off to the store for some baby oatmeal. I had started giving her the puffs (that ones that literally melt in their mouths) so she could learn to chew and keep the food in her mouth. This must of helped because when I gave her the oatmeal, it was the cleanest first feeding I have ever seen. I also read that they did better if you used your finger as a spoon for the first week and I totally agree. She was so excited to eat food, she is now my awesome little eater. She eats and loves everything I give her. I hope she always stays that way.

Feeding her solids was exciting and frustrating all at the same time. When I started her on solids, she started spitting up and stopped sleeping through the night. I tried everything I could think of to help her. Finally I called the doctor and took her in. Four appointments later, we found out that Kaylynn actually had acid reflux and slight delayed gastric emptying. The doctor said that she was not symptomatic until I feed her the solid food. Kaylynn did not spit up at all the first 6 months, so I consider myself blessed that it only started then. Now two months later, she is barely spitting at all, maybe once every few days if that. As for the sleeping, well it's a work in progress now that we got her tummy fixed. Last night she slept from 8pm-5am so we are well on our way to sleeping through the night every night again :). She is such a happy baby and hasn't let acid reflux change that a bit. She is still my little angel and she is growing so quick.

Just a couple pictures of her before and after, not that you can really see a difference. I also did a short video clip. Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving

The end of each year is always exciting because it means lots of trip visiting family and lots of my favorite foods. Ashton enjoys it because he loves traveling, especially if we are going to see grandma and papa. This year we went to my families house for thanksgiving. This is one of the holidays that is hosted at my moms and I have always loved helping her ever since I was little. Of course it takes several days of preparation to buy the food, make the flower arrangements, set the tables, and of course cook. This year I was in charge of making the rolls for the first time by myself (with the help of my mom). Of course I had to call my sister a few times to make sure I was doing it right, but they turned out great. I have had a horrible time baking bread lately so I was excited that they were so delicious. I loved being able to visit with all of our family and really enjoyed our trip. It was a very busy trip, but we loved every minute of it.

Family Fun

Even though we have been in Vegas for a year and a half now, we are still finding new things to do as a family. We have been driving by the Grand Prix Family Fun Center this entire time and I always thought it was a little old for Ashton. We had Ashton's T-Ball pictures there and I realized, it wasn't anything like I thought it was. We decided that we would go and see what it was all about. I call it a Family Fun Center because that is what it reminds me of. There are go carts and all these rides for the kids. We bought a one hour unlimited pass for Ashton. The best part was that we got to ride for free with him if he wasn't tall enough to go by himself. We had so much fun. We got some pizza ran around like crazy going on anything and everything that Ashton wanted to do. He was totally fearless and he loves roller coasters. We all had fun and have gone back several times. The best part is seeing the smile on Ashton's face, I can never get enough of his smile.

One of the cool rides were go-carts that Ashton could drive all by himself. I will say that I am extremely impressed with his driving. For only being four years old, I was impressed!

Halloween Palooza

Ok, I know it's been Halloween on my blog for two months now, but I couldn't not talk about our fun week. And yes I do mean week of celebrating. I LOVE that we have enough parties around Halloween that my kids get to wear their costumes several times. I do have to say, I think mine were the cutest two kids ever!

Halloween always starts with the decorating of pumpkins. We bought our pumpkins early in the month, but waited till the day before Halloween to carve them. Ashton would ask us everyday when we would carve the pumpkins, needless to say he was so excited when the day finally arrived. He was a huge helper and was so patient waiting for me to cut it out. We let Ashton pick the design for both him and Kaylynn. I carved Ashton's while Aaron carved Kaylynn's. I think they turned out great and Ashton had fun helping and that's all that really matters.

Our first party was at Ashton's preschool. He was so excited to wear his costume to school. Most of the kids dressed up and they even got a bag full of candy. Our next party was the Trunk or Treat held at our church. This year is was our entire stake so their were literally hundreds of cars to trick or treat at. It was fun to walk around and watch Ashton trick or treat. He got so much candy that our plastic pumpkin was actually full.

The next morning (which was actually Halloween) I decided to pack the kids in the car and go to down to my sisters for her Halloween party. Ashton had the next few days off of school and so I thought a quick trip down to San Diego was over due. My sister did a great job and threw a wonderful party. Ashton had so much fun playing with Ryan and Jayne was a fantastic witch. I loved being able to visit and loved that our kids got to celebrate together. Our trip went fast, but it was the perfect way to end our Halloween celebration. We took tons of pictures, but these are just my top picks.
